SCALDWELL Bellringers

Scaldwell Clangers can now call themselves proper Bellringers!
Learning to “play” the heaviest of musical instruments in the world can be a challenge and takes a long time. The six ringers who live in Scaldwell have now progressed from being “beginners” to being “improvers.” We hope you have noticed the difference. We have recently found help and support from an experienced ringer living within the Benefice and are now making great progress. Recently the band became members of the Guilsborough Branch of the Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers.
The church tower contains five bells as following:-
Treble, 1961 John Taylor & Co.
2nd 1961, Hugh ll Watts.
3rd 1682, Henry ll Bagley.
4th 1621, Hugh ll Watts.
Tenor, 1621, Hugh ll Watts (Wt.10-0-2)
The practice night is on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month from 7 pm to 8.30 pm. Anyone over 10 years of age can learn to ring. Visitors and new recruits are always welcome. For further information please ring the Tower Captain Dave Keir, 01604 880934 or Elaine Greatrex 01604 781969.
